If your a budding flight sim captain looking to get yourself up in the air in your first airliner then there are some fantastic high quality aircraft packages available for you as freeware.
PA 380 Skylevel Mega Pack
PA380 Skylevel megapack is a great start into the real heavy airliners. Created by Giacomo Tomasini / Sky Level Textures / Project Airbus this FSX aircraft collection with its range of liveries has been around since 2014. The package now has nearly 8000 downloads!
The models come complete with 6 liveries from the worlds biggest airlines including their original engines.
The aircraft textures are 32 bit giving you quality graphics for your aircraft as well as HD textures and many realistic animations. These include wing flex modeling which reacts to turbulence, reverse thrust animations.
When you touch down the landing gear also comes with fully independent animations as well as steering and spoiler animations. The models also have dynamic shine to reflect the light realistically. The most important feature is the realistic flight dynamics which the team has bought to the project.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner Mega Pack
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner Mega Pack is a complete package with 56 liveries for so many of the worlds major airlines. This package is compatible with FSX as well as P3D V4.5 and is backwards compatible. This amazing model with its 56 liveries was created by TDS and a complete 3d Virtual cockpit by Alejandro Rojas Lucena/FSND with some modifications from Ken Wiggington’s 737 VC tweaks.
Its a comprehensive package with so many features for a mid size jet airliner used by so many airlines around the world. The latest update for this model is the full 3D virtual cockpit. There is a fully functional heads up display on relevant models as well as GPWS (Ground Warning Warning System), rain effects, working wipers on the cockpit windows.
There is also operational G1000 avionics and FMC on some models to make the experience realistic. Plan your flights and way points like a real pilot. A pack I think you need to have as a budding airline pilot.
Flight Simulator Freeware – Business & Military
FSX/P3D Piaggio P.180 Avanti Mega Pack
If you have a passion for canard or fore plane aircraft this flight simulator freeware package one may be for you. The Avanti Maga Pack is another example of great freeware for FSX & P3D.
This turbine with pusher prop made in Italy is an amazing aircraft. The full 3D virtual cockpit is a joy to behold combined with the custom sound pack you will think your really behind the controls of this aircraft. Version P.180 is the current version as I write and includes lots of individual animations plus 30 high quality liveries for your enjoyment.
This is a real high performance turbo prop with speeds of 396 knots (Mach 0.68)and a max ceiling of 41,000 ft. This amazing performance is created by amazing aerodynamic optimizations in its design.
Boeing/BAe T-45C Goshawk – By Dino Cattaneo’s
If you have some TOP GUN in you then heres where you start your jet training on the Boeing/BAE T45C Goshawk. A beautiful aircraft in real life and an advanced jet trainer with many features you will want as a fighter pilot. Available for FSX and all versions of P3D Dino is a prolific aircraft creator in the community.
The latest version has fully functional Virtual cockpit including HUD (Heads Up Display) and in the latest version high definition textures.
Max Speed 549 Knots with a ceiling of 42000ft plus a +7g and -3G flight envelope. This aircraft is a lot of fun on carriers so you should know your approach speed should be around the 125 Knot mark.

FSX/P3D Aircraft Carrier USS Nimitz
This amazing flight simulator freeware model has been developed by Javier Fernandez. The model is compatible with FSX, Steam and P3D flight simulators and gives you the opportunity to get your sea wings. Launching and trapping on the carrier are some of the hardest aviation skills along with air to air refueling.
Fully animated with thrust deflectors rising as aircraft take their position on the cat, catapults and elevators all in action on the busy deck. Added features of the latest version are steam catapults, Oiler ships for refueling are also included.
Fully operational Elevator, 4 cables and catapults. There is a full range of military aircraft populating the deck. If you wish you can also walk around the deck. This is a must if your really serious about being the next Maverick!

Grumman F-14D Tomcat Mega Pack
The great FSX freeware Aircraft plus P3D continues with this magnificent F-14D Tomcat ready for the flight deck of your own aircraft carrier. This fantastic FREEWARE package has been created by Dino Cattaneo who also created the T45 Goshawk above.
Looking for supersonic combat then this updated model brings with it a completely new flight model, Virtual cockpit with 3D gauges, self shadowing plus bump mapping and photo realistic hi res textures. Truly a masterpiece ready to keep the free world safe night & day. Wing sweep is automatic but flaps remain manual.

Mitsuya Hamaguchi ‘s HondaJet
The Hondajet is another great FSX freeware Aircraft also for P3D in the offering. Its amazing such quality aircraft are available for us.
This amazing and very futuristic aircraft and just unrivaled attention to detail achieved FAA certification in 2015.
You will find the way this aircraft flies and feels very different to all the other business jets you may have in your virtual hangar.
The cockpit layout is unique and may take you a little to get use to. The realism at every corner is exceptional for a freeware aircraft is just amazing. You will discover all the intricacies as you learn to handle this stallion of the skies.
FREEWARE PROP AIRCRAFT
Edgley Optica – Craig Richardson
Built in the UK back in 1979 and was an alternate to an inexpensive option to buying a helicopter. The cockpit closely resembles a helicopter with 360 degree views. The cockpit and aircraft are highly detailed and fully clickable cockpit. There are 3D gauges and baked textures.
There were only 22 of these amazing aircraft created with a top speed of 115 Knots powered by a 260 HP six cylinder engine and a cruise distance of over 600 miles. This is something very different to try if your feeling adventurous.

Corby CJ-1 Starlet – by Craig Richardson
The Corby CJ-1 is an amazing home built aircraft built from wood and fabric with a top speed of 160 mph plus a cruise distance over 400 miles this little hot rod could climb at over 1000 ft per minute all with a 70-85 hp converted VW engine.
Designed by John Corby this little gem is a great if not small aircraft to have some fun in. The information on its handling is sketchy as only a few were made.
The FSX model has 3D animations and 3D effects to enjoy.
