The Jump to AM 5 is worthwhile in a long term sense for upgradability but the Ryzen 5600X still hangs well with GPU’s up to the RTX 4070 Super in most GPU oriented games. Flight Simulators are a different beast and high CPU usage makes a more modern and more powerful CPU a must.

The important takeaway is any of the Ryzen X3D CPU’s will perform about the same so you don’t need to buy the most expensive if you have a solely gaming focus.
The least expensive will perform the same and worth noting the fastest Intel CPU is still 10 -15 percent slower in gaming than the Ryzen X3D Chips. (ie the Intel I9 Series)

In a cost to performance comparison if your already on AM4 then these CPU’s will work well and boost performance considerably from all the online benchmarks available. If you have the cash I would still recommend upgrading to AM5 or if your getting a NEW system then again AM5 is where you should invest.
